Wingtai – A Community Enterprise Driving the Adhesive Tape Industry Chain to 40th Anniversary Celebration

On Nov. 18, Wingtai (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd. (“Wingtai”) celebrated its 40th anniversary. Among the guests were Yang Xu, Secretary of the China Adhesive and Adhesive Tape Industrial Association; Pang Lingwei, Secretary of the Guangdong Adhesive Association; Zhao Xiong, Party Secretary of Xiaolan Town; Fu Wanqing, Deputy Party Secretary; and Zhang Zewu, Party Committee member.

In 1984, against the backdrop of reform and opening-up, Wingtai Adhesive Products Factory was established in Yongning Community, Xiaolan, Zhongshan City, pioneering domestic professional pressure-sensitive adhesive production. Over the past 40 years, Wingtai has grown into an industry leader.

Initially a Sino-foreign joint venture with Hong Kong investors, Wingtai is now a wholly community-owned collective enterprise in Yongning. It integrates R & D, manufacturing, and sales of adhesive tapes and adhesives, with production bases in Guangdong and Zhejiang. It holds multiple invention patents, utility model patents, and registered trademarks, and serves as a global adhesive tape supplier.

Wingtai’s journey mirrors the economic rise of Xiaolan Town. Its “Wingtai” brand was among the first to earn the “China Brand” awards, and its “Wingtai model” exemplifies a community enterprise driving an entire industry. As a pillar of the local adhesive chemical sector, Wingtai contributed to Yongning becoming Guangdong’s first “billion-yuan village.” Today, Wingtai remains a key player in Xiaolan’s manufacturing landscape, supporting the town’s economic progress. From January to October this year, the adhesive chemical sector here generated 7.52 billion yuan in output, a year – on – year increase of 8.8%, accounting for 9.8% of the town’s total industrial output and contributing 13.4% to its growth. Wingtai itself contributed 340 million yuan, up 6.8% and representing 4.5% of the industry’s total, adding 0.3 percentage points to the sector’s growth.

At the anniversary event, Wingtai presented its new development plan—”Master Plan, Brave Move Forward.” Moving forward, Wingtai will focus on four key areas: developing eco-friendly products with unique features and superior performance; expanding globally; increasing investments in innovation, standard-setting, and smart workshop construction; and fostering community-enterprise unity to pioneer new chapters of growth.

Zhang Zewu urged Wingtai to embrace the innovative “Xiaolan Public Spirit,” leverage technological innovation and the “Three Transformations” (upgrading through digitalization, networking, and intelligence) for breakthroughs, and achieve new glories. The town government reaffirmed its commitment to fully supporting Wingtai’s development as a “shopkeeper” in its upgrade and “Three Transformations,” aiming to jointly write a new story of success.

Additionally, Wingtai honored employees with over 30 years of service through the “Lifetime Devoted Employee Award.”
